Ron Ravelo, a retired U.S. Navy captain and a senior director at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) since September 2021, has taken on a new role as vice president of programs for SAIC’s Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic and U.S. Marine Corps accounts.
In a LinkedIn post, Ravelo shared that his appointment comes six years after he relinquished command of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.
He most recently directed C4I programs within SAIC’s naval business unit, where he also oversaw the NIWC Atlantic account.
Prior to SAIC, he was a director and senior program manager at Charleston, South Carolina-headquartered advanced engineering company Scientific Research Corp.
Ravelo retired from the Navy in 2017 after nearly 30 years of service and currently serves on the Charleston Defense Contractors Association’s board of directors.
