Marine Corps Orders $160M in L3Harris Falcon IV Radios

The U.S. Marine Corps ordered $160 million worth of Falcon IV multichannel handheld and manpack radios from L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX).

L3Harris said Wednesday the orders are part of the potential 10-year, $750 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract the company won in early 2022.

The Falcon IV radio system features L3Harris’ software-defined architecture and crossbanding technologies. Its design is compliant with the 2024 Cryptographic Modernization program, which was spearheaded by the National Security Agency and backed by other federal defense organizations.

USMC integrates the multichannel handheld system with joint light tactical vehicles and high-mobility, multipurpose transport platforms.

The company fulfilled two orders of the Falcon IV radios from the U.S. Army last year, a contract valued at $235 million.
