The General Services Administration has released a solicitation inviting companies holding spots on the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Energy Savings Performance Contract vehicle to express their interest in competing for task orders under the IDIQ contract as part of the seventh round of the National Deep Energy Retrofit Program in GSA Regions 5 and 11.
GSA said Wednesday it intends to use funding under the Inflation Reduction Act to support projects in the Washington, D.C. area and four states to help achieve President Joe Biden’s goal of reaching net-zero emissions in federal buildings by 2045 as part of the administration’s Investing in America agenda.
Under Round 7 of the NDER program, GSA said 41 facilities, including 24 across Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin and 17 in the D.C. area, will be converted into all-electric buildings to achieve net-zero emissions through projects that could be worth more than $300 million.
“We’re excited to partner with innovative energy service companies to rapidly accelerate our progress toward achieving a net zero federal footprint – and create good-paying jobs along the way,” said GSA Administrator Robin Carnahan.
Questions regarding the notice of opportunity are due May 26.
GSA will accept expression of interest responses through June 19.
