Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson presented Roger Krone, former CEO and chairman of Leidos, with his 2023 Wash100 Award during a recent visit to Leidos offices on Krone’s last day as the head of the company.
In the Wash100 Award’s ten-year history, Krone is the only executive who has landed a spot on the list every single year, making him the winningest Wash100 recipient of all time. Krone earned this year’s recognition for his proven leadership strategy and his unwavering dedication to the growth and success of Leidos through innovation initiatives, major contract wins and strategic acquisitions.
Under Krone’s nearly nine-year tenure at the helm of the company, Leidos’ annual revenue more than doubled to $13 billion. Krone has tirelessly spearheaded Leidos’ transformation into one of the largest government contractors in the federal market since he joined the company from Boeing in 2014.

The 10-time Wash100 winner announced his retirement from the top Leidos post in late February, and Thomas Bell, who previously served as CEO of Rolls-Royce’s North American subsidiary, officially took the reins of the company on May 3.
Krone spent his last day as Leidos CEO at the company’s headquarters with Garrettson and professional racing driver Bubba Wallace.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Krone on his illustrious career, his record-breaking Wash100 Award winning streak and the indelible mark he has left on the government contracting landscape.
