Guam-based Black Micro Corp. has booked a potential $225.7 million contract to conduct four construction activities at Tinian International Airport in the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, with the U.S. Air Force obligating $221.7 million at the time of award.
The projects involve building a cargo pad with taxiway extension, fuel tanks with receipt pipeline and hydrant system, phase one airfield development roads and a maintenance support facility, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
The U.S. Navy’s Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific acted as the contracting activity and received only one proposal for the competitive procurement effort.
USAF is using fiscal 2019 military construction funds for fiscal years 2019, 2020 and 2023 to cover the obligated amount.
The maintenance support facility project is a contract option item being funded at the time of award.
