Thomas Bergeson, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant general, has been named president and chief operating officer of military training technology developer Red 6.
“Tom and I have spent a lot of time together over the past few months as he gained insight into our technology and our vision,” Red 6 founder and CEO Daniel Robinson said Thursday in a LinkedIn post.
Bergeson served as COO at aviation company Wheels Up for the past two years and previously led U.S. Central Command as deputy commander from 2018 until his retirement from military service in 2020.
His military assignments have included work as commander of the Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, director of the Air Force Legislative Liaison, deputy commander of U.S. forces in South Korea and the Department of Defense’s senior defense official to the United Kingdom.
The 35-year USAF veteran logged over 3,500 hours in various aircraft platforms as a command pilot.
