Kyle McKendrick, senior enterprise account executive at ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW), and Daniel Gruber, specialist managing director at KPMG, said government agencies looking to drive business transformation on a modern platform should partner with a multifaceted industry team that takes a holistic approach to modernization.
In a joint article published on Carahsoft’s website, McKendrick and Gruber discussed how a ServiceNow-KPMG team helped a newly established agency within the Department of Defense advance technology modernization through open conversations and a “better together” approach to come up with an action plan to achieve the agency’s transformation objectives.
They cited how the establishment of a governance structure led to the creation of an environment that allows application development teams to rapidly field new apps and how brainstorming sessions enabled the industry team and the agency to generate ideas and agree on a plan to support the customer agency’s missions.
“Delivering against the mission requires agility,” Gruber and McKendrick wrote.
“Having trusted advisors and a location where agency leaders and advisors can step away to brainstorm and deep dive into new and emerging needs is critical to overcoming obstacles while managing risk to the agency,” they added.
McKendrick and Gruber also highlighted the importance of combining the industry team’s skillsets to drive true transformation and deliver on the agency’s mission.
