Noresco, a part of Carrier Global (NYSE: CARR), will help the Environmental Protection Agency’s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory implement a decarbonization program under a potential 22-year, $130 million energy savings performance contract.
The company said Thursday it will perform critical infrastructure upgrades, help improve energy efficiency and provide operations and maintenance services in support of EPA’s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
NVFEL is under EPA’s office of transportation and air quality and provides emission testing support for heavy-duty engine, motor vehicle and nonroad engine programs in support of enforcement measures, rulemakings and development of test procedures.
Noresco has been supporting NVFEL for more than two decades and will install new boiler and chiller plants and control systems for building energy management under the ESPC.
The company will also support labs and replace heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems through the contract.
