Wes Anderson, vice president of defense at Microsoft, was presented with his 2023 Wash100 Award by Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson during a recent visit to Microsoft offices.
The annual Wash100 list recognizes only the best and brightest executives working in the GovCon ecosystem. Now in its tenth year, the distinguished honor is bestowed upon individuals demonstrating innovation, leadership, vision, reliability and potential to shape the GovCon landscape in the coming year.
Anderson made this year’s list because of his commitment to getting powerful emerging technologies — like augmented reality, cloud and artificial intelligence — into the hands of United States warfighters.
“Wes Anderson is the David Goggins of government contracting IT,” Garrettson said of the three-time Wash100 recipient. “He’s spent 24 years at Microsoft trying to understand and deliver on our nation’s most important defense initiatives with the biggest technology platform in use by our collective warfighters. His enduring vigilance to remain current on rapidly evolving technology, security and successful evolutionary mission support is Wes’ ultimate triathlon.”
