Stephen duMont, president of GM Defense, received his first Wash100 Award from Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson during a recent visit to GM offices.
Each year, the top 100 “executives of consequence” working in the government contracting sector are named to the prestigious Wash100 list. These individuals represent the best and the brightest in GovCon, and they are recognized for their invaluable contributions to government missions.
DuMont made his debut on the 2023 Wash100 list for spearheading major company growth initiatives, expanding GM’s reach in strategic markets and fostering key partnerships.
“I took on this role two years ago with a vision to deliver advanced commercial technologies to our warfighters at commercial speed and scale,” said duMont. “The GM Defense team is absolutely executing on this commitment. We take immense pride knowing that our integrated vehicles, power and propulsion systems, and autonomous and connected vehicle capabilities will play a critical role in supporting our defense and government customers around the world.”
At the start of 2023, GM Defense teamed up with American Rheinmetall Vehicles to develop prototypes that could replace the U.S. Army’s line of heavy tactical trucks as part of a proposal for the first phase of the Common Tactical Truck program.
