Howard McKenzie, a 35-year veteran of Boeing (NYSE: BA), has been promoted to chief engineer at the corporate level and he succeeds Greg Hyslop, who is set to retire from the aerospace and defense company after 41 years of service.
Hyslop will hold the chief engineer emeritus designation and assist with leadership transition efforts until his retirement in June, Boeing said Wednesday.
As part of the move, McKenzie also became executive vice president of the engineering, test and technology organization Hyslop managed for more than three years.
McKenzie most recently held the top engineering post at the company’s commercial airplanes business and previously had similar duties within the global services organization.
