General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) ordnance and tactical systems business will produce large-caliber metal and mortar projectiles for the U.S. Army under a $1.48 billion contract modification.
The award to carry out shell manufacturing work has a projected completion date of July 30, 2029, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
General Dynamics inherited the job through the aerospace and defense company’s acquisition of Medico Industries in 2020.
Medico was awarded a $214.9 million cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price contract in July 2019 to manage the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant in Northeast Pennsylvania.
