The State Department has approved the Netherlands’ request to purchase Lockheed Martin-built (NYSE: LMT) multiple launch rocket systems and associated equipment from the U.S. government under a $670 million foreign military sale proposal.
The possible deal includes 20 M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, missile and rocket pods, battle management and radio systems, vehicle integration kits, training equipment, publications and logistics support, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.
DSCA noted that implementing the sale would require the deployment of U.S. representatives to the Netherlands for program management review work.
The foreign country intends to adopt HIMARS as part of military modernization, homeland security and partner interoperability efforts.
