Oshkosh Defense Books $100M Contract to Produce Israeli Military Carrier Hulls

Oshkosh‘s (NYSE: OSK) defense business will manufacture hundreds of main hull structures for the Israeli defense forces’ Eitan armored personnel carrier fleet under a contract worth more than $100 million.

Israel’s defense ministry expects the delivery of initial hulls to occur within an 18-month period to support the production of the eight-wheeled combat vehicle, Oshkosh Defense said Friday.

Eitan is an Israeli-made vehicle based on Merkava tank and Namer APC technologies that can reach a speed of around 90 kilometers per hour and carry up to 12 combat personnel.

The all-terrain fighting vehicle features day and night peripheral vision cameras, touch monitors and processors.

John Lazar, vice president of international business at Oshkosh Defense, said the contract extends the company’s more than a decade-long partnership with the Israeli ministry of defense on various military programs.
