Federal IT services provider MartinFed has purchased service-disabled, veteran-owned small business Xcel Engineering.
David Mathis, president and CEO of MartinFed, said in a statement released Thursday the company made the acquisition to broaden IT and engineering service offerings to the federal, state and local government sectors.
“Xcel will maintain its office and staff in Oak Ridge, Tennessee with plans to expand its presence in the coming years,” Mathis added.
MartinFed appointed Jim Page to serve as president of the acquired business. He is set to join the Huntsville, Alabama-based company in March from the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa and will also hold the title of executive vice president.
