Kevin Mortensen, vice president of business development, strategy and growth for Air and Space Force solutions at BAE Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary since 2021, has transitioned to a new role as VP of space and cyber initiatives.
Mortensen wrote in a LinkedIn post his new role involves early-stage collaboration and consultation with customers to help them prepare for emerging threats and mission requirements.
The U.S. Air Force veteran has been with BAE Systems Inc. for more than five years, starting out as director of business development. Before he joined the defense company, Mortensen was vice president of international marketing at Swedish Space Corp.
While at USAF, he spent four years as chief of Air Force Space and Cyberspace Legislative Affairs Programs and held various roles at the Air Force Space Command, including as aide-de-camp to the commander, director of the Schriever wargame and section chief of the Defense Satellite Communication System.
Mortensen serves on the board of directors of the National Defense Industrial Association.
