Leo Taddeo, former head of Appgate‘s federal and threat advisory divisions, has been elevated to the dual role of CEO and president.
His promotion took effect Jan. 4 and he brings 25 years of government and commercial sector experience to his new role, the cybersecurity company said Monday.
Taddeo joined Appgate in February of last year as chief information security officer and led its efforts to help federal customers gain secure information technology connections.
“As federal agencies and commercial enterprises turn to Zero Trust technologies to face unprecedented cybersecurity challenges, I believe Appgate is in a strong position to enable and accelerate that important transition,” he said.
Appgate is a spinoff of Miami-based secure access company Cyxtera, where Taddeo previously held the titles of CISO and federal unit president.
He previously worked as an FBI special agent in the cyber division of the bureau’s New York office.
