A joint venture between the Greenlandic unit of Vectrus and construction company Permagreen has won a potential 12-year, $3.95 billion contract from the U.S. Air Force to operate and maintain the Thule Air Base in Greenland.
Detachment 1 of USAF’s 21st Contracting Squadron in Copenhagen, Denmark, received four proposals for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract and will obligate $25,973 on the award, the Department of Defense said Friday.
In a separate statement, the U.S. Embassy in Denmark said Inuksuk A/S, the winning contractor, will perform support services such as airfield operations, civil engineering, environmental management, logistics and vehicle maintenance.
The full management of services will commence on Oct. 1, 2023, and continue through Sept. 30, 2034.
Vectrus owns 49 percent of the Inuksuk venture.
