TRANSCOM Picks 22 Carriers for $1.5B Heavyweight Delivery Service Work

Twenty-two cargo airlines were awarded spots on a potential $1.5 billion indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Transportation Command to conduct domestic and international shipments of defense equipment or items weighing from 150 lbs to over 300 lbs.

The Global Heavyweight Service-2 program will cover global delivery services from Feb. 1, 2023, to Sept. 30, 2032, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

The awardees of the firm-fixed-price IDIQ are:

  • Air Transport International
  • Atlas Air
  • Delta Air Lines
  • Eastern Airlines
  • Everts Air Cargo
  • Hawaiian Airlines
  • iAERO Airways
  • JetBlue Airways
  • Kalitta Air
  • Lynden Air Cargo
  • National Air Cargo Group
  • Northern Air Cargo
  • Omni Air International
  • Polar Air Cargo Worldwide
  • Sun Country Airlines
  • United Airlines
  • United Parcel Service
  • Western Global Airlines

Carriers will provide services at the agency task order level, which will also determine work funding. They were selected following a competitive acquisition.
