Michael Buscher, a defense and intelligence industry veteran, has been appointed executive director of enterprise operations at counter-unmanned aerial systems developer Fortem Technologies.
He will be based out of the company’s new office in Washington, D.C., and will coordinate Fortem’s business development strategies and engagements with U.S. government customers, the company said Monday.
Buscher served on Fortem’s government advisory board from November 2021 until his most recent appointment. Prior to joining the company, he was chief strategy officer at Edge Autonomy and chief growth officer at artificial intelligence company BigBear.ai.
He was also vice president of intelligence and special operations at Peraton, VP and National Intelligence Center director at HII (NYSE: HII) and CEO at Vanguard Defense Industries.
His 30-year government service includes time as a special operations officer with the U.S. Army and Army Reserves and as a senior operations officer at the CIA.
Buscher joins other new hires at Fortem’s new D.C. office including Matt Quinn, who serves as VP of government solutions, and Warren Brown, who works as VP of marketing.
