Naval Air Systems Command has awarded Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and ERAPSCO, a joint venture between Ultra Electronics and Sparton, $222.5 million in combined firm-fixed-price contract modifications to supply additional sonobuoys to the U.S. Navy.
Lockheed and ERAPSCO will compete for individual orders to produce and deliver up to 36,000 units of the AN/SSQ-125A series production sonobuoy to the service branch, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
The modification exercises an option of a potential $220.8 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract awarded in December 2018.
ERAPSCO will carry out 69 percent of contract work in De Leon Springs, Florida, and the remaining 31 percent in Columbia City, Indiana. Meanwhile, Lockheed’s tasks will occur in Manassas, Virginia, and Clearwater, Florida.
Deliveries will run through September 2025.
NAVAIR will obligate contract funds upon the issuance of individual orders.
