Gilbane‘s federal business has won a $118.4 million contract to build the structural foundation of a new U.S. Air Force radar station to be installed in the Republic of Palau.
Under the firm-fixed-price contract, Gilbane Federal will establish reinforced concrete pads and other foundational elements needed to set up the Tactical Mobile Over-the-Horizon Radar system, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific acts as the contracting activity for the TACMOR infrastructure project.
According to a May solicitation notice, the project covers the construction of utilities to support transmission and receiver antennas for research use.
The contract does not include TACMOR equipment composed of the research antenna suite, calibration instruments and a maritime surveillance platform, according to the notice posted on SAM.gov.
