Rich Sawchak, a member of the board of directors of Systems Planning and Analysis, will succeed the retiring William Vantine as CEO of SPA, effective Nov. 21.
Vantine will continue to serve on the board of the Alexandria, Virginia-based defense technology services contractor, SPA said Tuesday.
“The timing of Bill’s retirement was planned during the transition to Arlington Capital’s ownership last year, and we are grateful for his outstanding leadership as SPA’s President and CEO over the past seven years,” said David Wodlinger, chairman of the board at SPA and a managing partner at Arlington Capital Partners.
Wodlinger added that Vantine set the next phase for SPA’s growth by leading the integration of four companies in the past year.
In September, SPA acquired Metron’s operations research and cyber analysis division that is focused on delivering support services to the U.S. Navy and other national security customers.
Sawchak brings to the role over 25 years of experience leading companies in the government tech and services sectors.
He most recently served as chief financial officer at Hypori and held CFO roles at Novetta, Schafer and Paradigm Solutions. Apart from SPA, Sawchak also sits on the boards of Gunnison Consulting and Cydecor and serves as a trustee of the University of Valley Forge.
