QinetiQ Group’s U.S. arm has completed its purchase of Avantus Federal from NewSpring Holdings in a strategy to bring innovation in the field of software, hardware and mission services to defense, intelligence, homeland security, law enforcement and civilian agencies.
The $590 million deal was first announced in August and QinetiQ US said Wednesday the combined entity will integrate the company’s experience and knowledge in sensing, robotics and autonomous platforms, protection systems and next-generation tech services with Avantus Federal’s expertise in operations, strategic planning and stakeholder collaboration across government operations.
Shawn Purvis, president and CEO of QinetiQ US, said Avantus’ tech platforms, dedication to mission and talent complement the company’s culture.
“I am honored to lead a combined team that shares a focus on performance and a proven ability to be agile in impactful delivery at the speed of our customers’ missions,” added Purvis, a two-time Wash100 awardee.
