He will take over from Dan Verwiel, who has served as acting CEO of Ultra Intelligence & Communications since September and will return to his role as an adviser to Ultra, the company said Monday.
Rucker joins Ultra from SAIC where he most recently worked as SVP of the U.S. Army-focused arm within the defense and civilian sector.
In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the business development, strategy execution and program delivery of engineering and information technology services to Army research and development centers, commands and program executive offices.
The executive served as SVP of the command, control, communications and intelligence group at CACI International (NYSE: CACI) before joining SAIC.
Rucker also held various roles of increasing responsibilities during his nearly two-decade career at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT).
