Alberto Conti, former director of new business and innovation solutions at Ball Aerospace‘s civil space business, has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the unit.
The promotion expands Conti’s previous responsibilities to include strategic planning with sector customers and stakeholders over mission priorities and next-generation architectures, Ball said Tuesday.
His career has taken him to various observatories and major private companies. He previously worked as chief engineer for data management for the Hubble Space Telescope, and as an innovation scientist of the James Webb Space Telescope.
He came to Ball in 2018 from Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), where he was the civil space innovation manager.
