Timothy Waltz, a more than two-decade defense and intelligence sector veteran, has been named vice president of the sensors and systems business unit at Riverside Research.
The nonprofit organization said Friday he will oversee technology research and development efforts within the military and intelligence community in his new role.
“My passion is seeing technology develop, ensuring it gets into the field, and then improving it with feedback from the end user,” Waltz said.
The U.S. Navy veteran joins Riverside Research from SRI International where he most recently worked as executive director of advanced research programs, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Waltz also held various technology-focused leadership positions at Applied Systems Research, BAE Systems, CACI International (NYSE: CACI) and General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
“He is known in our community for being collaborative, highly technical, and focused on multi-disciplinary solutions to our customers’ problems,” said Steven Omick, President and CEO of Riverside Research.
