Boecore, a portfolio company of private investment firm Enlightenment Capital, has purchased space systems provider Ascension Engineering Group for an undisclosed sum.
AEG is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business founded in 2017 and provides satellite communications engineering platforms for NASA, the U.S. Army, U.S. Space Force, other defense and military agencies and commercial clients, Enlightenment Capital said Tuesday.
“Boecore’s acquisition of AEG comes at a time when there is a critical need for secure and robust satellite communications in space given an increasingly contested and congested environment,” said Thomas Young, a vice president at Enlightenment Capital.
“We will continue to invest in the platform to drive innovation, expand service and solution offerings that are integral to Boecore’s customers’ missions, and develop and maintain our nation’s most complex, integrated systems that protect national security,” added Young.
Boecore is a Colorado Springs, Colorado-based company providing technology platforms in space, hypersonics, strategic deterrent and missile defense sectors. The company was acquired by Enlightenment Capital in January.
