General Dynamics Unit Receives $1.1B Polish Army Main Battle Tank Order

General Dynamics’ (NYSE: GD) land systems business has received a potential $1.15 billion order from the U.S. Army to build modernized Abrams main battle tanks for Poland.

The foreign military sales order is for the delivery of 250 M1A2 System Enhancement Program version 3 vehicles that include upgrades to armor, communications, fire control and fuel systems, the company said Thursday.

Poland’s national defense ministry initially announced an approximately $4.8 billion deal with the U.S. government in May to procure the SEPv3 configuration units along with ammunition and training and logistics services.

The U.S. Army said it expects start the delivery of Abrams tanks to its Polish counterpart in January 2025.
