Tom Kellermann, former head of cybersecurity strategy at VMware (NYSE: VMW), has been appointed senior vice president of cyber strategy at Los Altos, California-based vulnerability assessment software provider Contrast Security.
He will oversee Contrast Security’s strategy to support cyber initiatives in the government and financial sector and help drive the adoption of a software-based threat intelligence sharing approach for industry use, Contrast Security said Wednesday.
The 23-year industry veteran previously served as chief cybersecurity officer at Carbon Black, chief cybersecurity officer at Trend Micro and vice president of security at Core Security.
He received appointments to join the U.S. Secret Service Cyber Investigations Advisory Board in 2020 and the Commission on Cyber Security under the Obama administration in 2008.
Contrast Security offers a secure code platform designed to help customers to detect and mitigate threats during the early stages of their software development life cycle.
