Jason Porter, president of AT&T’s public sector and FirstNet business, was recently presented his 2022 Wash100 Award by Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson during a recent visit to the company’s office.
Executive Mosaic is pleased to recognize Jason Porter as a first-time winner of the most prized and prestigious award in all of government contracting (GovCon) for leading significant company growth as FirstNet has been able to reach over 99 percent of the U.S. population and 95 percent Band 14 coverage in just the last five years.
As a first-time recipient of the Wash100 Award, Jason Porter has established himself as one of the elite leaders and executives driving success for the GovCon community. In addition, Porter is also being celebrated for driving 5G capabilities for federal agencies, the education market, and his focus on delivering mission-centric products for public safety entities.
Jason Porter was appointed to his current post in March 2021 after initially joining the company back in 2022 as an engineering manager. In his role, Porter works with his team to solve the technology needs and challenges of our nation’s first responders.
Most recently, Jason Porter commented on the debut of several new tools and features back in March 2022 to advance the company’s mission to protect U.S. citizens and shorten emergency response times.
Porter emphasized that the company is creating the new services “because it ultimately helps all people across the country stay safe” and predicts FirstNet will continue to lead the industry, providing interoperable, end-to-end emergency communication solutions for decades to come.
“As technology rapidly evolves, we’ll continue to create innovative solutions and equip public safety to further strengthen their situational awareness and incident response in any emergency,” he explained.
In addition, AT&T FirstNet significantly widened its 5G availability to 10 new locations throughout the country to cover more than 2.81 million square miles of ground. The company also unveiled and launched the Band 14 spectrum, which is a line created especially for the FirstNet Authority organization for emergency calls. In appropriate situations
