Day & Zimmermann and General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) ordnance and tactical systems Canada business have secured spots on a potential five-year, $372.59 million contract from the U.S. Army for high-explosive rounds supply.
The contractors will compete for task orders under the firm-fixed-price contract to conduct mortar cartridge-related work including round assembly and packaging, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Each order will determine work locations and funding, with contract efforts expected to be completed by Aug. 18, 2027.
Day & Zimmermann is a government contractor that offers a range of products and services including manufacturing, storing and demilitarizing ammunitions to support the U.S. and its allies. Meanwhile, GD-OTS Canada is an ammo system integrator that works with the armed forces and law enforcement agencies.
The two companies were selected by the Army following an online solicitation that gathered three bids.
