Adam Razavian, a former executive at General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and the U.S. Navy, has been appointed president and CEO of autonomous undersea vehicle builder MRV Systems.
He took over the dual role from Neil Bogue, who has led MRV Systems since 2016 and will remain as chairman of its advisory board, the company said.
Razavian most recently served as director of strategy at Saab and chief engineer and business director at General Dynamics’ mission systems division, according to his LinkedIn profile.
His civilian career in the Navy includes service as technical director of Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division, where he supervised a team of scientists, engineers, technicians and business professionals that has over $2 billion in annual operating budget.
San Diego-based MRV Systems spun out of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 2010 and holds a license to manufacture the SOLO II Argo float.
