Sigma Defense has acquired Sub U Systems for an undisclosed sum to expand technology offerings intended for tactical networking and communications.
The combined company plans to offer a common hardware platform with software applications that support intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance relay, analytics, artificial intelligence and edge computing, Sigma Defense said Tuesday.
Sub U Systems has been developing software and hardware-based internet protocol routers, computers, switches and other related equipment for military, government and commercial use since 2008.
“The acquisition of Sub U aligns with our vision of autonomously connecting people, systems and data with an integrated hardware and software approach to communications,” said Matt Jones, CEO of Sigma Defense.
Jones added that Sigma Defense aims to bring a platform capable of supporting AI, machine learning and analytics to the Department of Defense’s Joint All-Domain Command and Control effort.
Keir Tomasso, president and founder of Sub U Systems, will continue to lead business operations and tech development efforts post-acquisition.
