Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) will produce a hemisphere configuration of an updated electronic warfare system for the U.S. Navy under a $254.4 million contract option.
Naval Sea Systems Command exercised the option as part of the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program Block 3 program, which represents the third effort in a series of AN/SLQ-32 block updates intended to help U.S. sailors counter anti-ship missile threats, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The company delivered its first SEWIP Block 3 system to the Navy in June 2021.
Work under the contract modification is scheduled to run through September 2025.
