Wireless infrastructure provider Mobilitie has acquired broadband company Signal Point Systems for an undisclosed amount in a move to bring connectivity services to U.S. military installations and other Department of Defense facilities.
Mobilitie said Thursday it will integrate operations of the two companies to continue providing broadband communications support to military personnel.
Christos Karmis, CEO of Mobilitie, said the combination aims to deliver 5G and fiber-based connectivity to DOD, active service members and their families.
Kennesaw, Georgia-based Signal Point develops and installs telecommunications infrastructure such as towers, small cells and fiber on military bases and nongovernment properties.
Investment bank TI Partners and law firm Holland & Knight represented Signal Point on the transaction, while DLA Piper served as Mobilitie’s legal representative in the acquisition process.
Newport Beach, California-headquartered Mobilitie operates within the BAI Communications organization.
