Matt Hayden, a more than two-decade cybersecurity professional, has joined General Dynamics’ (NYSE: GD) information technology business as vice president of cyber client engagement.
He will help advance General Dynamics Information Technology’s cyber growth strategies and thought leadership and forge relationships with government leaders and industry partners as a senior cyber executive within the company’s intelligence and homeland security division, GDIT said Thursday.
“Matt is a nationally-recognized expert in both cyber technology and policy and further deepens our cyber expertise within the intelligence and homeland security sector,” said Kelly Ferrell, senior VP for intelligence and homeland security at GDIT.
Ferrell added that Hayden’s cybersecurity knowledge and background will play a critical role in helping GDIT’s customers modernize their cyber defenses and advance their missions.
Hayden is former assistant secretary for cyber, infrastructure, risk and resilience policy at the Department of Homeland Security. In this role, he oversaw policy development efforts with a focus on federal network security, cybersecurity of critical infrastructure and cybercrime.
He previously served as deputy assistant secretary for the private sector within DHS’ office of partnership and engagement and as senior adviser to the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
