Acacia Seeks to Address Demand for Technical Talent With Baer Acquisition; Craig Dawson Quoted

Technology investment firm The Acacia Group has acquired The Baer Group, which provides tech consulting and services to customers in public and private sectors, for an undisclosed sum as part of efforts to address the increasing shortage of technical talent needed to support digital transformation efforts of government and industry clients.

We see immediate opportunities for Baer to support the clients of current Acacia companies with their demand for skilled technical talent,” Craig Dawson, co-founder and partner of Acacia, said in a statement published Wednesday.

We will also invest in expanding the scale and breadth of Baer’s network of talent to grow its current blue-chip customer base,” added Dawson.

Founded in 1997, Atlanta-based The Baer Group works with federal systems integrators and provides subject matter experts and specialist resources in support of U.S. government programs. The company’s project teams have expertise across a range of enterprise tech platforms, including SAP, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle, ServiceNow and Salesforce.

Peter Aaron, president of The Baer Group, said as a new portfolio company of Acacia, Baer will build up its team, expand and diversify its product partnerships and technical capabilities and grow in scale to better support customers.

7 Mile Advisors acted as The Baer Group’s exclusive advisers in the deal.
