Vertex to Help Maintain Navy Test Aircraft Under Potential $850M Contract

The Vertex Company has been awarded a potential seven-year, $850 million contract to help a U.S. Navy aviation component maintain aircraft for the branch’s test and evaluation activities.

The company said Monday it will provide organizational-level maintenance services to the Naval Test Wing Atlantic, whose fleet consists of fixed-wing, unmanned and rotary aircraft platforms assigned across five squadrons.

Contract work will primarily take place in Patuxent River, Maryland, and the award has a one-year base period along with options to extend services for up to six more years.

The announcement of this award comes less than one month after Vertex rebranded itself and reached an all-stock merger agreement with Vectrus.
