Edward Parkinson, former CEO of the First Responder Network Authority, has been appointed president of the public sector business at RapidSOS.
He will be responsible for driving RapidSOS’ emergency response data integration approach that involves collaboration with partners across the public safety communication and software sectors, the company said Wednesday.
Parkinson first joined the FirstNet Authority in July 2013 as director of government affairs for the national emergency broadband network project and was promoted to the chief executive position in October 2018.
Earlier in his career, he spent five years at the House Homeland Security Committee as a professional staff member and primarily worked on first responder telecommunication matters.
New York-based RapidSOS designed its platform to link data from connected devices to the emergency service and first responder community.
