Dave Rey, president of the global public sector at Salesforce (NYSE: CRM), said federal, state and local government agencies should understand the importance of digital transformation and the adoption of a secure and scalable cloud-based platform to facilitate the delivery of mission-critical services to citizens amid the toughest situations like the COVID-19 pandemic.
“One clear lesson from the pandemic is that we need to find a new way to operate, and time and speed are of the essence,” Rey wrote.
He highlighted how scalable technology deployed during the health crisis helped save lives and how Salesforce works to enable the public sector to meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders through technology.
One of the technologies Rey mentioned is the Salesforce Government Cloud Plus platform, which has FedRAMP High certification and combines relationship management, collaboration, case management, analytics and integrated data into a single platform.
He discussed how data integration, analytics and collaboration capabilities from MuleSoft, Tableau and Slack enable government agencies to build and improve digital experiences for employees and citizens.
Rey has been selected two times to Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list that recognizes the most influential figures in the government contracting sector with his inductions having taken place in 2016 and 2018.
