The Office of the Director of National Intelligence has published a document that identifies and projects the intelligence community’s science and technology needs from fiscal year 2022 through FY 2026 and is soliciting feedback and ideas on emerging technologies and new approaches to meet these S&T needs.
The National Intelligence Science and Technology Committee will use public comments and other insights on the document titled FY2022–2026 ODNI S&T Investment Landscape to help inform S&T investments, according to a request for information published Monday.
ODNI’s S&T group is asking interested stakeholders to provide descriptions of technologies and projects applicable to the IC’s needs outlined in the Landscape document and those that support the community’s mission but were not cited in the paper.
IC’s S&T needs were categorized by technology domains, including artificial intelligence, computing, cyber, data, electronics, energy and power and space, according to the document.
Each tech domain has subcategories. For instance, tech domains under AI include autonomous systems, deep learning, human-machine teaming and machine learning.
Responses to the RFI are due May 28.
The Landscape document and two other investment planning papers “serve as a roadmap for advancing and sustaining a diverse and talented technical workforce, championing and advocating for S&T that is not only effective but will provide the IC with a competitive advantage, enhancing and creating enduring and purposeful partnerships with a range of non-traditional public and private partners, managing risk, and integrating expertise across a range of technical and mission-oriented disciplines,” National Intelligence Director Avril Haines and Stacey Dixon, principal deputy director at ODNI, wrote in the Landscape document’s foreword.
Executive Mosaic has named both Haines and Dixon to the 2022 Wash100 class of the government contracting sector’s most influential figures. Cast your votes by April 30 on Wash100.com!
