Dave Wajsgras, a two-decade aerospace and defense industry leader and a six-time Wash100 awardee, will assume the role of CEO of Intelsat on April 4.
He will succeed the retiring Stephen Spengler, who has served in various senior leadership roles for more than 18 years and as CEO of the satellite communications company for seven years, Intelsat said Monday.
Lisa Hammitt, chairperson of Intelsat’s board of directors, said Wajsgras is a results-oriented leader who builds up teams and talent, facilitates engagement with clients and other stakeholders and brings to the company a great track record as a senior executive.
Wajsgras most recently led the intelligence, information and services business at Raytheon, which now operates as part of Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) following the company’s merger with United Technologies Corp. in April 2020. He also served as chief financial officer at Raytheon prior to assuming the role of president of the IIS business.
He also worked at Lear (NYSE: LEA) as executive vice president and CFO.
