Boeing (NYSE: BA) will deliver six additional MH-47G Block II Chinook helicopters to the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Aviation Command under a $195 million contract.
The company said Thursday it will perform production work primarily at a facility in Philadelphia and expects to start its delivery of the upgraded rotary-wing military aircraft to USASOAC sometime in 2024.
The award brings to 36 the total number of MH-47G helicopters Boeing is contracted to deliver to the command.
Boeing received a $265 million order in August 2020 to deliver nine additional helicopters to the Army and a $212.6 million delivery order modification in November 2021 to provide six more Chinook aircraft.
The Army has received five remanufactured MH-47G units from the company to date.
