Jacobs (NYSE: J) has acquired transportation and infrastructure analytics company StreetLight Data in a strategy to expand Jacobs’ digital technology offerings and its work in the environmental, social and governance area.
California-based StreetLight uses its InSight software-as-a-service platform to help transport agencies process location data from multiple devices and identify multimodal travel patterns, Jacobs said Monday.
The acquired business has worked with federal, state, regional and city agencies that oversee transportation operations. Other clients included engineering and consulting firms and other private companies within the mobility, internet of things, automotive and utility industries.
“There is a global need for solutions that help us better understand the movement of people, goods and services while addressing broader societal challenges, and our acquisition of StreetLight solidifies our leadership in this fast-growing area,” said Steve Demetriou, chair and CEO of Jacobs.
