Amentum announced on Thursday that John Heller, a six-time Wash100 Award recipient, has been named the new CEO for the company, effective March 28th. Heller will succeed current CEO John Vollmer, who has served in the role for Amentum since its inception in Jan. 2020. Vollmer will continue as the company’s chairman of the board.
”I am incredibly proud to have led Amentum during its first two critical years, and it has been a privilege to lead such a talented and dedicated workforce who care deeply about our customers and their success,” said Vollmer, a seven-time Wash100 Award winner.
Previously, Heller served as the CEO of PAE Inc. between Dec. 2013 and March 2021. Heller oversaw the company’s growth strategy, guiding PAE from $1.6 billion in revenue to more than $2.76 billion in revenue today. Under Heller’s leadership, the company secured several major acquisitions and attained superior performance and integrated adjacent capabilities.
Prior to his role at PAE, Heller was president of Professional Support Services for L-3 Communications. He also held the roles of senior vice president and COO with Engility Corporation.
