L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) is streamlining its core businesses into three segments focused on communication systems, integrated mission systems and space and airborne systems.
“Our business segments will continue to lead market innovation in their focus areas, fueling advanced solutions for the toughest operational challenges,” Christopher Kubasik, vice chair and CEO of L3Harris and a three-time Wash100 Award winner, said in a statement published Monday.
In July 2019, L3Harris unveiled four business segments after the company was formed through the merger of defense contractors L3 Technologies and Harris. Those segments were integrated mission systems; space and airborne systems; communications systems; and aviation systems.
In the same year, the Melbourne, Florida-based aerospace and defense technology contractor started the process of shaping its portfolio with a focus on high-growth, tech-differentiated businesses to enable a streamlined business structure.
“Our intent remains clear: Be the trusted disruptor for U.S., allied, and partner national security endeavors,” Kubasik said.
He added the company expects the lean approach to deliver resilient, end-to-end and innovative platforms in support of customers’ missions.
