Fairbanks Morse Defense has purchased Maxim Watermakers, a provider of desalination technology for marine defense applications, to grow FMD’s naval products and services for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
Maxim Watermakers manufactures reverse osmosis systems, waste treatment technology, evaporators, salinity monitoring equipment and cleaning solutions at its 50,000-square-foot facility in Shreveport, Louisiana, FMD said Tuesday.
FMD CEO George Whittier said Maxim’s portfolio of technologies makes it a strong addition to the company’s rapidly growing line of marine technologies.
The transaction is part of FMD’s effort to further grow defense technology offerings through a series of acquisitions. The Arcline Investment Management portfolio company recently acquired naval equipment replacement parts manufacturer Federal Equipment Company.
