Ryan McCarthy, former secretary of the U.S. Army and 2020 Wash100 inductee, has joined the board of directors at command and control technology provider Tomahawk Robotics.
The Army veteran brings defense acquisition and technology experience as Tomahawk Robotics aims to help military customers deploy its C2 software to unmanned systems, the company said Monday.
McCarthy previously served as special assistant to the Department of Defense secretary under two presidential administrations and to the DOD’s undersecretary for acquisition, technology and logistics.
“Tomahawk Robotics is deploying their products with some of the most sophisticated users of unmanned systems today, and we are pleased that Ryan will be joining our board and ultimately help us position for significant programs with the U.S. Army,” said Wes Blackwell, a partner at Scout Ventures.
Scott Ventures, an early-stage venture capital, led a $10 million series A funding round for Tomahawk.
