She will succeed Dwayne Blake, who will retire at the start of 2022 after nine years in the job, the company said Friday.
In her new role, Thomas will directly report to Tom Stiehle, HII’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, and assist with the development of financial results and earnings announcements, analyze competitor and stock trading and ensure the company’s compliance with regulatory requirements. She will also be responsible for communicating HII’s business strategy and operations to investors.
Thomas joined HII’s shipbuilding division in 2006 and has since held various leadership positions such as corporate director of investor relations at the company’s corporate office.
Before that, she led supply chain business management at Northrop Grumman and spent 12 years at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) as director of finance and business operations.
